Day 116 blog

Today I woke up with one simple thought on my heart: gratitude changes everything.

When you wake up and truly give thanks for how far you’ve come, something shifts. It’s easy to focus on what’s next, what’s missing, what still needs to be built. I am very goal driven, so my mind naturally goes to the next milestone, the next level, the next move. But this morning I paused.

I thought about the version of me from a few years ago. The prayers I prayed. The tears I cried. The moments I doubted myself. The doors that closed. The ones that opened. The risks I took when I was scared. The growth that didn’t feel glamorous at the time. And I realized how far I have actually come.

When you sit in gratitude like that, it creates energy. Real energy. Not pressure. Not comparison. Not hustle for the sake of proving something. It creates fuel. It reminds you that if you made it through that season, you can handle the next one too.

Gratitude shifts your mindset from “I’m behind” to “I’m building.” From “Why isn’t it happening yet?” to “Look at what already has.”

There is something powerful about acknowledging your progress. It builds confidence. It builds faith. It builds momentum. And that momentum makes you want to keep going, not because you feel forced to, but because you know what you are capable of.

So today I am choosing to be thankful for every step, even the hard ones. Thankful for the growth that stretched me. Thankful for the lessons that shaped me. Thankful for the opportunities in front of me. Thankful for the strength that carried me this far.

When you wake up and give thanks for how far you’ve come, you create the energy to go even further.

Keep going.

My mindset is similar to yours in that I’m goal oriented and I just move on to the next one.  Like you I have learned to relish a bit in my successes each time, because that means I’m closer to where I want to be then I was.  I…
