Day 134 blog

Today started the way most of my days do, up early and hitting the gym. It’s one of those habits that really sets the tone for everything else. After my workout I checked in with my staff at my gym to make sure everything was running smoothly. I always like to touch base, see how everyone is doing, and make sure all is good on the operations side.
After that I spent some time in my office there getting a little paperwork done before heading home to shower and reset for the rest of the day. Once I got home I ended up spending some time cleaning the house and doing a little organizing. It always feels good to get things in order, especially with travel coming up.
Later I ran to the store to grab a few things I needed for my upcoming trip to Colorado. It’s always the little things you realize you need right before a trip, so it was nice to get that taken care of early.
At some point during the afternoon I also ran around my property to squeeze in another little workout. I guess one workout a day just wasn’t enough today. The fresh air and a little extra movement always feels good.
Now I’m settling in for the evening reviewing applications and figuring out who I want to bring in for interviews and what I’m even going to ask them. It’s funny because when you run a business and truly treat your employees well, you end up with almost zero turnover. People stay until they retire. That’s a great thing, but it also means when a position does open up, it’s a big deal and you want to make sure you bring the right person in.
So tonight will be a little bit of reviewing resumes, making some notes, and planning out interviews. Just another day in the life of running a business.
Signed, Paulina.

Your pre-travel day posts are always interesting; can only be done when you are on a schedule and stick to it.
I think it’s funny in a cool way that you workout at the place you own and then after you’re done you check in on the business side of it. It’s probably the most efficient and productive uses of your time among all your businesses. It’s just really cool hearing about it.
I’ll bet you home is neat as a pin when you are about to leave for a trip. Then following it up with another workout run around your property; you must have had some extra gas in the tank so to speak. Gives that CEO…
