Day 135 blog

This one is a little early since I have a lot on my to do list.

This morning started with church, which is always one of my favorite ways to begin a Sunday. There is something about taking that time to pause, reflect, and reset your mind before the week ahead.

The message today was about trust. Not the easy kind of trust when everything in life is going well, but the deeper kind of trust we are called to have in God even when we do not fully understand what He is doing in our lives.

The priest talked about how often we try to control everything, our plans, our timelines, our expectations of how things should work out. When something does not go the way we thought it would, it is easy to feel frustrated or question why things are happening the way they are. But faith asks us to do something different. Faith asks us to trust that God sees the bigger picture even when we cannot.

Sometimes delays are protection. Sometimes closed doors are direction. And sometimes the waiting seasons are where God is doing the most important work within us.

That message really stuck with me today. It is a reminder that life does not always unfold according to our plans, but that does not mean we are off course. It simply means we are being guided in ways we may not fully understand yet.

Walking out of church today I felt a sense of peace with that idea. To keep working hard, keep showing up, keep trusting that the path in front of me is being shaped exactly the way it is meant to be.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply trust the process God has for us. Tomorrow I head to Colorado for some business, then Wednesday Natalie and I head to Italy for a ski trip!

I’m trying to achieve something that even in the best circumstances is a monumental task ahead.  But while other people through the benefit of their situation are provided an edge that greatly supports their progress, it is not the determining factor of if they will reach their goal.  What has and always will be the rule for success is yourself and…
