Day 142

Today I spent one more day out on the slopes of Livigno, and it was the perfect way to soak in the last of this time here. There’s something about being in the mountains that just brings a different kind of peace. It slows everything down and reminds you to just be present.

By mid afternoon, I made sure to sign on and get my church time in for the day. No matter where I am in the world, I don’t want to miss a good word. There’s something grounding about staying consistent in faith, especially when life is moving fast in every other area.

The message today really stuck with me. It was centered around trust. Trusting God not only when things are clear and going well, but also when things don’t make sense. In the Catholic faith, we’re reminded that faith is not just about believing when we see the outcome. It’s about surrendering even when we don’t.

One of the biggest takeaways was learning to release control and lean into God’s plan fully. So often we try to hold onto what we think is best, but God sees far beyond what we can. When we surrender, we’re not losing control, we’re placing it in better hands.

It also spoke about obedience. Not in a restrictive way, but in a trusting way. Following God’s word even when it challenges us, corrects us, or pushes us to grow. That’s where real transformation happens.

Being able to pause in the middle of a day filled with activity and reconnect spiritually brought everything back into alignment for me. It reminded me that no matter where I go or what I’m doing, my foundation stays the same.

Now I’m on the plane heading back to Texas for the week before I make my way home to California for Easter weekend. It feels good to be moving into the next part of this season while still carrying everything this trip has given me.

Ending this day feeling both physically fulfilled and spiritually grounded is something I don’t take for granted.

Signed, Paulina.

I’m so happy you got this time away and have some fun for yourself.  It’s so important, especially in my opinion for you with all the responsibilities you have to be able to take that much more time for yourself.  Glad you were able to spend one more day out on the slope taking it all in before you headed back home.

I love how often you lean into trusting God’s plan and just letting go of what you cannot control and leave it to him.  Worrying takes so much energy out of you and gives nothing back; give to your life what you can and release the rest to God and let him guide you forward.
