I’m writing this in the morning about yesterday so I don’t completely lose track of my days. Time zones will do that to you. It’s Tuesday here, but this is definitely Monday back home.

Yesterday started with breakfast with my cousin at a restaurant on a lake. There’s a walking trail nearby, so after we ate, we went on a really good five mile walk. Fresh air, movement, and good conversation. It was the perfect way to start the day.

The rest of the day was spent visiting extended family and checking in on my house out here. Yes, I own a house here. It was inherited when my grandma passed, and being back always brings a mix of memories and gratitude. There’s something grounding about being in a place that holds so much family history.

I am fully embracing this season of slowing down and not worrying about work. I check in occasionally, but I’m genuinely not stressed about it. I have amazing people in place, and everything is running exactly as it should. Letting go has been really good for me.

We’re also trying to decide where to go for New Year’s, but knowing us, that decision will probably be made last minute. That kind of flexibility feels nice right now.

I would love to hear everyone’s New Year’s resolutions. I’ll be sharing mine on New Year’s Day.

Signed, Paulina.

It’s wonderful you got to connect with family wherever that may be right now and checking in on your home.  I’m sorry it came to you in a sad way but I’m sure you’ll ensure it will be maintained and endure for many years to come for future generations of your family.  I think it’s genuinely…
